Applesauce Cookies

This cookie is a soft delicious cookie make with applesauce and apple pie spices. It is so good and such an easy cookie to make. My boys love them.

Applesauce cookies


  • 1 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1/2 t. nutmeg
  • 1/2 t. cloves
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  1. Combine sugar, shortening, and egg in a mixing bowl. Beat with mixer until fluffy.
  2. Stir in applesauce.
  3. Sift flour with salt, baking powder, baking soda, and spices and add to mixture.
  4. Drop soft dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Makes 4-5 dozen soft smaller cookies. Perfect for snacks.
